Beauty in the Ordinary
As these days are starting to cool off, there is something so beautiful about a baby on a big quilt outside. That same big quilt and baby are a magnet to siblings and Francis the dog. So the quilt becomes a gathering point in the middle of the yard, in the middle of the day.
From the Kitchen
I premade some sausage and egg biscuits to freeze. They turned out great. I made my normal biscuit recipe:
2 C flour
1 T baking soda
1 t salt
1/2 stick butter
mix until crumbly
milk or buttermilk until doughy
Then I browned some sausage patties. I baked the eggs in muffin tins and even that worked out great. Then I assembled and wrapped tightly in aluminum foil and put them in freezer bags to be pulled out warmed up in the oven or toaster oven with the foil still on. They warm up nicely and don’t get dried out.
The 29th I am starting a 9-Day Rosary Novena to Our Lady of the Rosary. The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is October 7; a day our parish will be having a meeting, a meeting that needs lots of prayers.
The Fourth Sorrow of the Blessed Virgin Mary…Mary meets Jesus as He carries His cross.
Indeed, there have to be factions among you, for only so will it become clear who among you are genuine.
